DEVELOPING INTERNAL COACH

The Developing Internal Coaches Programme is a comprehensive two-day experiential workshop designed to equip leaders with the mindset, skill set, and practical tools to coach effectively within the organisation.     TRAINING METHODOLOGY

    The programme is built upon the 4Mat System instructional design and includes:

    • Debrief sessions after each activity for reflection and application.

    DAY 1 — Foundations of Coaching & Core Techniques

    MODULE 1: Setting the Frame — Objectives & Outcomes

    • Understanding organisational performance challenges and current engagement levels.
    • Identifying obstacles to performance and behavioural alignment.
    • Introduction to NLP and its relevance to organisational and leadership development.
    • Distinguishing coaching from mentoring, consulting, and mana

     MODULE 2: The Coaching Mindset

    • Understanding the role of an internal coach.
    • Cultivating curiosity, empathy, presence, and developmental leadership behaviours.
    • How beliefs, values, and internal dialogue shape behaviour and influence others.

     MODULE 3: Coaching Framework & Application (GROW Model)

    • Applying the GROW framework: Goal – Reality – Options – Way Forward.
    • Setting clear outcomes and facilitating reflective discovery.
    • Adapting structure and flexibility based on coachee needs.

     MODULE 4: Building Connection and Trust

    • Establishing rapport and psychological safety.
    • Understanding verbal and non-verbal rapport cues.
    • Maintaining connection during resistance or challenging situations.

    DAY 2 — Deepening Coaching Skills & Embedding the Culture

    MODULE 5: The Art of Coaching Conversations

    • Developing deep listening skills—hearing meaning, emotion, and intention.
    • Mastering powerful, outcome-focused questioning techniques.
    • Conducting foundational coaching conversations using real scenarios.

     MODULE 6: Handling Resistance & Driving Performance

    • Identifying emotional reactions, defensiveness, or resistance.
    • Coaching for performance vs. coaching for development.
    • Using reframing and feedback techniques to sustain motivation.

     MODULE 7: Creating a Coaching Culture

    • Embedding accountability, ownership, and continuous learning across teams.
    • Leadership behaviours that support a coaching-based environment.
    • Coaching triads, simulations, and application exercises.
    • Crafting action plans to sustain coaching practices.

    MODULE 8: Conducting a Structured Coaching Conversation

    • Integrating tools, models, and techniques learned throughout the programme.
    • Practising a full, structured coaching conversation.
    • Step-by-step guidance to prepare for real coaching engagements.
    • Final action plan to begin coaching immediately after training.
