The business environment today has become increasingly complex and competitive as cost of production and product development becomes much more cost effective. However, even as more products become available, the market becomes more difficult to penetrate. Companies not only must continually innovate and lower their cost of product, they must also now think about the marketability of their products to an increasingly fussy consumer.

Poor decisions made at the production stage will adversely affect the profitability of the product and eventually the business. However, as the work environment becomes increasingly siloed to increase productivity and control cost, decisions are now made at respective departments within the business cycles increasing the difficulty in understanding how these decision made at the department level will affect the corporate wide results at the end.

It is now more important to be looking at decision making at a holistic view to ensure decisions are made effectively and inclusively. In addition due to the ‘bullwhip effect’ of the supply-demand processes where decisions made at the beginning of the process are at times only known at the end, it is now more important than ever to be able to see the results of the decisions immediately.

Programme Synopsis and Learning Outcomes:

Often managers lose sight of long-term goals because they need to constantly look at making decisions to fulfil short term goals and objectives.

To ensure that companies remain on track to reach set strategic objectives, managers requires an holistic insight to the business and they also need to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to participant in strategy planning and decision making so alignment of operational and tactical plans and decisions is made to the overall strategy plan.

Business Strategy Professional Level 7 is an intensive and comprehensive 10 days blended training programme that is specially designed for managers at all levels. It will refresh and equips you will new skills and tools along with practical experiences to devise strategic plan and strategic decisions.

This is a high level training that provides training to managers in crafting strategic plans and decisions that also creates framework for your subordinates to follow in their daily decision making.

Through lectures, brainstorming, discussions, case studies simulations and the analysis development training, you will be able to

  • Recognise changes caused by competitors to the industry which they serve and make needful strategic adjustments for the growth of the business.
  • Practice cross departmental communication to ensure alignments of strategic decisions.
  • Articulate logically with business sense for each key business decisions and its internal and external implication
  • Make judgements with minimal compromises to the overall strategic direction and defend the judgement.
  • Apply, adjust and adopt suitable models, techniques and theories to produce an environment audit for an organisation

Pre-Requisites

This programme is suitable for any executives with any background as long as one has responsibilities of making decisions that implicates the organisation’s profit and lost.

Training Structure and Assessments

The training is an intensive 10-days training programme. It begin with 2 days face-to-face training sessions, then participants will undergo 6 days of guided self and team learning experiences with the support by the trainer using tools and materials that is available within the Axon Training Portal. On the day 9, participants will gather to complete a full simulation that will be assessed with marks. Day 10 will be a debriefing day whereby our facilitator will be spending time to discuss the various strategies formulated and it’s implementations.

Teams will be rated on business success based on the decisions they made over the 8 periods of each simulation rounds that covers the aspect of Research & Development, Marketing, Production, Human Resource, TQM and Finance. These decisions span across the categories in the International Business Excellence Framework. The digital simulation uses an integrated evaluation approach to relate each decisions to the various aspect of the Business Excellence Framework against the results and performance to generate a point and the points will be presented in a Balanced Scorecard.

Grading, Awards and Award Type

The simulation generates marks for each year simulated. The 8 cycles of simulations will return a accumulated mark based on a fixed scale. Converting the scale to the percentage from the grand total determines the final award a participant receives. 50% being the minimum passing level and based on the final result, the following grading scale will be used:

  • 5 Star : 90% and above
  • 4 Star : 80% and 89.99%
  • 3 Star: 70% and 79.99%
  • 2 Star: 60% and 69.99%
  • 1 Star: 50% and 59.99%

At the end of this programme, successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement for the “Business Strategy Professional Level 7” certification jointly awarded by from London Examinations Board, ABC Awards and CERTA Awards.

The final mark will determine the type of certificate a participant receives as below:

  • Business Strategy Professional; OR
  • Business Strategy Masterclass with Business Simulation Certificate of Attendance

The Business Strategy Professional Level 7 has been endorsed under the ABC Awards and Certa Awards Quality Licence Scheme. This means that This programme has undergone an external quality check to ensure that the organisation and the courses it offers, meet defined quality criteria. The completion of this course alone does not lead to a regulated qualification* but may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills gained. The Learner Unit Summary may be used as evidence towards Recognition of Prior Learning if you wish to progress your studies in this subject. To this end the learning outcomes of the course have been benchmarked at Level 7 against level descriptors published by Ofqual, to indicate the depth of study and level of demand/complexity involved in successful completion by the learner.
